Abstract: Knowledge is as a major ingredient for rapid transformation of any society. There is a strong bond between education and knowledge. It is observed that knowledge can be created, directed and disseminated. A knowledge created but not disseminated may not be utilized and knowledge not utilised has no usefulness despite its potentialities. Knowledge creation, utilisation and management have different stages, processes and levels. This paper looked at the Nigerian Educational system using the Systems approach to investigate the possibilities embedded in managing created knowledge for developmental purposes. The paper investigated the challenges involved in knowledge creation at primary secondary and tertiary education levels while viewing the potentials of good knowledge management for a plural society like Nigeria that desires urgent economic emancipation.
