Abstract: | This paper examined the fact that no matter how mild, moderate or severe the hearing loss of an individual, it has a way of affecting his/her psychosocial adjustment. Emphasis is therefore, placed on the meaning, causes, symptoms of hearing impairment, characteristics of students with hearing impairment, concept of psychosocial adjustment and the implications of hearing impairment on the psychosocial adjustment of students with hearing impairment. It is therefore; recommended that there should be early intervention programmes for children with hearing impairment, in order to help them adjust to school or society at large. |
